Habitants haalt adem in een bevroren wereld

Dreampop/shoegaze single ‘Bury the Earth’ 9 oktober uit


In Bury the Earth horen we Habitants met hun vertrouwde shoegaze-gitaren, zware reverbs en Elisabeth Fraser-achtige vocalen het verhaal vertellen van de natuur die even adem haalt in een bevroren wereld. Het nummer neemt de luisteraar in ruim vijf minuten mee langs grote luchten en mysterieuze zeeën, uiteindelijk uitbarstend in emotie. 


Bury the Earth werd geproduceerd door Ian Grimble (Daughter, Bear’s Den) en is de nieuwste release van shoegaze/dreampop band Habitants, dat met drie vrouwelijke leden op front (zang, gitaar en bas) de fans van Slowdive, Massive Attack, Sigur Ros en MONO aanspreekt.


Bury the Earth komt uit op Spotify en alle streaming services en is onderdeel van een tweeluik waarvan het tweede deel op 6 november uitkomt. Daarna volgen nog 3 tweeluiken voordat in september 2021 een volledig album versc


hijnt. Het Nijmeegse Habitants werkt samen met kunstenaar Stefan Sloot (Vera Groningen, Studio Captain) die het verhaal van het album en de tweeluiken visueel vormgeeft.

Mercy John announces 'Let It Go Easy Tour'

After a busy spring, in which Mercy John released the incredible album 'Let It Go Easy' and co-wrote Danny Vera's hit 'Roller Coaster', he now announces his 'Let It Go Easy Tour'.

Habitants release new live single and video

On April 25th Habitants released their new single, a live version of 'Winter'. The band recently recorded the song at De Vasim in Nijmegen. 'Winter' is the opening track of the highly acclaimed album 'One Self', which saw its release at the end of 2018.

''We wanted to release a live video because Habitants is a true live act. We really try to present a sonic adventure and take the audience with us. We are such perfectionists we make our own amplifiers and effects to achieve the exact sound we wish to create'', - René Rutten.

Habitants are currently finishing a Dutch clubtour with 3 dates left:

Malford Milligan's 'Life Will Humble You' is a huge success in Austin, Texas

Last month (April), Malford Milligan was touring Texas (USA), to promote and perform his new album 'Life Will Humble you'. The album proved to be a huge success in his home state Texas. It was the best selling Texas CD at the famous Waterloo Records.

Besides being the best selling Texas CD, it also came in at #2 in the weekly top 40:

Black Oak are shortly back from their hibernation. On May 15 the band will be performing at the Waalse kerk in Amsterdam

Rosemary & Garlic back to Istanbul

On April 17 Rosemary & Garlic will be performing at the Dutch Ding-a-Dong Festival in Istanbul.

The Dutch Ding-a-Dong Festival is a collaborative effort between the Zorlu Performing Arts Center and the Dutch consulate, to bring emerging Dutch artists to Turkey and to introduce them to their fans and to Turkish music professionals. This isn’t the first time Rosemary & Garlic will be performing in Istanbul, their previous show in the beautiful city of Istanbul was in May 2018. Tickets can be bought here.

Mercy John: television- and radio performances, new tour dates & much more

Mercy John has been a busy man these past couple of months after releasing his new album ‘Let It Go Easy’ (which is still charting in the Euroamericana charts); doing club shows and radio- and television- performances. He also managed to co-write the soon to be monster hit ‘Roller Coaster’ by Danny Vera.

On March 25th Mercy John performed the song ‘Bullets for Sale’ at Dutch tv-show Veronica Inside. The performance can be viewed here.

Mercy John also performed a few songs from the new album ‘Let It Go Easy’ at the national Radio 2 show 'Tros Muziekcafe'. If you’d like to watch some of the performances, you can do so through the links below.

As a songwriter Mercy John often successfully co-writes songs with other artists. The most recent example of his writing skills is the song ‘Roller Coaster’ by Danny Vera, which has been selected to the top of the playlists by national radio stations Radio 2 and Qmusic.

The album ‘Let It Go Easy’ is doing exceptionally well on the Euroamericana charts, last month it came in #4 and currently is standing at #8. The album is loved by fans and critics alike:
